1. How is the Mental Gastric Band different from the surgical band advertised on the freeway billboards and TV? Your Mental Gastric Band is greatly different than a physical band. There is no surgery. There are no medical tests used for qualifications or disqualifications. No doctor referral or recommendation is needed. There is no danger of complications. It is a complete natural holistic program that calls upon your mind instead of surgery. The price is a bargain compared to the cost of surgery. The Tooley Mental Gastric Band procedure uses hypnosis to achieve the same stomach constriction and weight loss effects. More information. 2. The Tooley Mental Gastric Band works on the same principles (hypnosis and enforced smaller portions because of a smaller stomach) as the European version from the ABC News program. the difference is that the process from Europe involves you believing that you HAD THE SURGERY and have a PHYSICAL BAND in place around your stomach, whereas the Tooley process uses your own stomach muscles to squeeze your stomach smaller.
3.Will I have to be on clear liquids and baby food for 6 weeks like the surgery gastric band? No! Your Mental Gastric Band process is a gentle process. There is no need to recover from any shocks of surgery. Your stomach will be gently constricted. You will be on soft foods for the first week while your stomach adjusts to its new shape. Thereafter you will be able to eat normal nutritious foods immediately, but in smaller portions and very well chewed.

7. I have heard that some people cannot be hypnotized. How do I know if I can be hypnotized so that this will work for me? Everyone goes into trace on a daily basis. Your hypnotist chooses the techniques that are appropriate for you. Hypnosis is a skill. Each time you do it, it becomes easier. The Tooley Mental Gastric Band Program has a preparation week with twice-a-day hypnosis sessions preceding the Mental Gastric Band installation.
